The Galveston Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to mastering and performing the full range of symphonic literature. This ensemble of highly skilled amateur and professional musicians has been bringing the unforgettable experience of live performances to Galveston audiences since 1979 with a repertoire of compositions ranging from the baroque to the contemporary. In the belief that symphonic music can be enjoyed by anyone who has the opportunity to hear it, the Galveston Symphony Orchestra presents programs that transcend boundaries of culture and differences in economic and educational background. The Orchestra rehearses every Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas and invites interested musicians to join its ranks. For more information please call Michael Hughes (409-763-2481) or Richard Pickar (713-465-8209).
